There are two places where you must add users in ControlOne:
- The ControlOne Tenant
- ControlOne User Zones.
Adding users to your ControlOne Tenant
In this step, you are adding users to ControlOne itself. These users require user licenses.
- Each user requires a user license to be added to a ControlOne User Zone. If you do not have a user license for a particular person, you will be unable to add them to a user zone.
- Each user you remove from a user zone returns a user license to your pool of available licenses
Checking user licenses
If you experience errors adding users to User Zones, a likely cause is not having enough user licenses for the amount of users you are adding.
1. In the ControlOne Portal, click Admin Settings in the left-hand Navigation menu.

2. Scroll down to the Licenses card. Your available licenses will display under Agent Users.

Adding new users to ControlOne
There are three ways to add new users:
- Add users individually, via email invite
- Add users in bulk, via CSV file
- Add users via Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory)
Adding users to a User Zone
When a user logs into the ControlOne Agent, their access and permissions will be governed by the policies set on the User Zone in which they reside.
1. In the Network Map, click the User Zone.

2. A configuration menu will open on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the Users tab at the top of the menu, then click Manage for the method with which you are adding your users.

After being added to a User Zone, your users can log into ControlOne through the ControlOne Agent.
