How to configure an Algo SIP Door Phone to work with Cytracom UCaaS

Topic

This article discusses how to configure an Algo SIP Door Phone to work with Cytracom UCaaS.

Environment

  • Cytracom UCaaS
  • Algo SIP Door Phone

Description

Algo SIP Door Phones can be manually configured using the phone's local web interface and the SIP credentials from the Cytracom portal. This guide maps the Cytracom platform settings to the corresponding Algo web interface fields.

Procedure

Before you start

Before configuring the Algo SIP Door Phone, open the extension that will be assigned to the device in Cytracom's portal, then click SIP Config under Routing & Configuration. Keep this page open so you can copy the SIP username and password.

Make sure the device is connected to a network with DHCP enabled and that the device has received an IP address.

Access the web interface

1. Connect the Algo SIP Door Phone to the network using Ethernet.

2. Locate the device's IP address. Depending on the model, this may be available from the DHCP server, network scan, or by using the device's IP announcement function.

3. Open a web browser on the same network as the Algo SIP Door Phone.

4. Enter the device's IP address in the browser.

5. Log into the web interface.

Note: The default password for many Algo devices is algo. If the password has been changed and is unknown, the device may need to be factory reset.

Configure SIP registration

1. In the Algo web interface, navigate to Basic Settings > SIP.

5. Enter the SIP password from the Cytracom extension's SIP Config page in the Authentication Password field.

6. In the Extension to Dial field, enter the Cytracom destination the door phone should call when the button is pressed.

This can be a user extension, ring group, call queue, auto attendant, or another valid call route in the Cytracom platform.

7. Click Save.

Configure advanced SIP settings

1. Navigate to Advanced Settings > Advanced SIP.

2. If an Outbound Proxy field is available, set it to reg.cmh1.uc.cytracom.net.

3. Set SIP Transport to UDP, unless otherwise directed by Cytracom Support.

4. Leave Register Period, Keep Alive, and other SIP timers at their default values unless otherwise directed by Cytracom Support.

5. Click Save.

Verify registration

1. Navigate to the device's Status page.

2. Confirm the SIP registration status shows as registered.

3. Press the call button on the Algo SIP Door Phone.

4. Confirm the call routes to the configured Cytracom destination.

If the device does not register, confirm the SIP username, SIP password, registration server, outbound proxy, and network connectivity.

Configure door unlock or relay control

If the Algo SIP Door Phone is being used with a door strike, gate, or relay, configure the relay settings in the Algo web interface.

1. Navigate to the relay or door control settings in the Algo web interface.

2. Configure the relay activation method according to the customer's door access requirements.

3. If DTMF is used to trigger the relay, document the DTMF code provided by the customer.

4. Test the relay activation from a Cytracom phone by answering the door phone call and entering the configured DTMF code.

Note: Door unlock, relay timing, and strike behavior are configured on the Algo device or access-control equipment. These are not controlled by the Cytracom portal.

Troubleshooting

If the Algo SIP Door Phone does not register, verify the following:

  • The device has a valid IP address.
  • The network allows SIP traffic to reg.cmh1.uc.cytracom.net.
  • The SIP username matches the extension's SIP Config page.
  • The Authentication ID matches the SIP username.
  • The SIP password was copied correctly.
  • The SIP Domain / Proxy Server is set to reg.cmh1.uc.cytracom.net.
  • The Outbound Proxy is set to reg.cmh1.uc.cytracom.net, if available.
  • The call destination entered in Extension to Dial is valid in Cytracom.

If the device registers but calls do not complete, verify the configured destination in Cytracom and confirm the destination can receive calls from another internal extension.
