Sign In with Multi-Factor Authentication

Overview

Sign in to your Cytracom account using multi-factor authentication (MFA) to verify your identity with an additional layer of security beyond your password.

Use Case: Complete a secure sign-in to Cytracom when MFA is enabled on your account, using an authenticator app to provide a one-time verification code.

Who Should Use This: All Cytracom users with multi-factor authentication enabled on their account.

Prerequisites

  • [ ] Active Cytracom user account with valid credentials
  • [ ] Authenticator app installed on your mobile device (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy)
  • [ ] Access to the Cytracom sign-in page

How to Sign In with Multi-Factor Authentication

Step 1: Enter Your Email Address

Type your email address into the Email field on the Cytracom sign-in page.

Where to find it: The Cytracom sign-in page, displayed when you first navigate to the Cytracom login URL

What you'll see: The email field accepts your input and the Continue button becomes available

Step 2: Click Continue

Click the Continue button to proceed to the password entry screen.

Where to find it: Below the email field on the sign-in page

What you'll see: The sign-in page advances to the password entry screen

Step 3: Enter Your Password and Sign In

Type your password into the Password field, then click the Sign In button.

Where to find it: The password entry screen displayed after clicking Continue

What you'll see: The page transitions to the multi-factor authentication screen with a QR code or verification code prompt

Step 4: Scan the QR Code with Your Authenticator App

Open your authenticator app on your mobile device and scan the displayed QR code to link your account.

Where to find it: The MFA setup screen displayed after entering your credentials

What you'll see: Your authenticator app registers the account and begins generating 6-digit time-based verification codes

Step 5: Enter the 6-Digit Verification Code

Type the 6-digit code displayed in your authenticator app into the verification field on the MFA screen.

Where to find it: The verification code input field on the MFA screen

What you'll see: Cytracom validates the code and completes the sign-in process, redirecting you to the Cytracom dashboard

Expected Result

After entering the correct 6-digit verification code, Cytracom authenticates your identity and redirects you to the main dashboard with full access to your account.

You'll know it worked when: You are redirected to the Cytracom dashboard and can access your account features and settings.

Troubleshooting

Issue: QR code does not scan

Solution: Ensure your mobile device camera has permission to scan within the authenticator app. If scanning still fails, look for a "Can't scan?" or manual entry option on the MFA screen to enter a setup key manually.

Issue: 6-digit code is rejected

Solution: Verify that the code has not expired — authenticator codes refresh every 30 seconds. Wait for a new code to generate and enter it immediately. Ensure your mobile device clock is synced automatically (Settings > Date & Time > Set Automatically).

Issue: Lost access to authenticator app

Solution: Contact your Cytracom administrator to request a reset of your multi-factor authentication. See Reset Two-Factor Authentication for a User for administrator instructions.

Additional Information

  • Tip: Save a backup of your MFA setup key in a secure location during initial setup in case you need to reconfigure your authenticator app on a new device.
  • Note: The QR code scanning step (Step 4) only appears during your first MFA sign-in or after an administrator resets your 2FA. Subsequent sign-ins skip directly to the verification code entry (Step 5).
