Cytracom ControlOne: Getting started with the iOS Agent App

Topic

This article discusses how to connect with and use the ControlOne iOS Agent App.

Environment

  • Cytracom ControlOne

Description

ControlOne for iOS provides all of the enterprise grade security delivered by the ControlOne platform on your iOS device without any configuration on the endpoint device.

Requirements

To use the ControlOne iOS Agent App:

  • You must have an active ControlOne Agent license.
  • Your device must be running iOS 15 or newer.

Special considerations

  • Agent Control Policies are not compatible with the iOS Agent.
  • The Agent Teleport feature is not currently available for the iOS Agent.
  • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) login via Web-Login SSO is supported.
  • Multi Factor Authentication via SMS or Authenticator App TOTP is supported.
Note: While ControlOne does not perform mobile device management (MDM), you can control mobile device compliance requirements with a Device Posture Policy for iOS.

Connecting with the ControlOne Agent iOS App

1. Download the ControlOne Agent iOS App from the App Store.

2. Log in using your ControlOne credentials and multi-factor authentication. Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) users will be taken to the Entra ID sign-in page to authenticate.

3. To continue, the App must install a VPN profile with the OS to provide secure connectivity for internet traffic through ControlOne. Tap Continue, then inside the pop-up prompt tap Allow and follow authentication prompts to install the profile and complete App setup.

Removing the VPN profile from the 'Settings' App will interrupt connectivity with ControlOne. The Agent App will prompt to re-install the profile if one is not present.

The App will automatically connect to your ControlOne network when the profile is installed. The main screen will also display the current connection status and secure gateway IP.

  • Tap the Connect button to reconnect the device to your ControlOne network.

Additional options

Tap the Account button at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to access settings.
