Environment
- Cytracom UCaaS
Description
There are a few methods for sending a fax with cFax.
- Email to Fax
- Web Portal
- Fax Machine Connector
- Print to Fax
Email to Fax
One of the main features of cFax is the ability to send and receive faxes right from your email.
This feature will only work from an email address associated with an active account in our system.
Addressing the email:
To send a fax from email:
1. Compose a message from your email.
2. In the To: field, type the 11 digit fax number (ex 18885551212) followed by @fax.cytracom.com.
It is important to always use an 11 digit fax number when formatting the email. This means you need to include a "1" for faxing any number in the USA or Canada.
Populating information onto a cover page:
If you have your cover page setting turned on, mFax will automatically take details from your email and populate it directly onto a cover page (how to turn this feature on/off).
Sending a fax from the Web Portal
1. Log into secure.cytracom.net
2. Select the Fax option at the top of the navigation bar. You will be redirected to the cFax portal.
3. Fill in the necessary fields.
- If you would like to include a cover page, you may choose that here.
- To add a tag, click the tag button. You can choose an existing tag or create a new one. This will help you organize your fax history.
When finished, click Send.

Fax Machine Connector
If you would like to use an existing fax machine, contact Cytracom to purchase a Fax Machine Connector device. This device will convert the cFax digital signal to an analog signal that can be printed by the fax machine. Email billing@cytracom.com to order a device.
Print to Fax
The Print to Fax driver is a simple Windows application that lets you send a fax from any application that allows you to print.
To get started, you must download and install the driver.
At the end of the installation process, you will be prompted to enter an authorization key. This key can be retrieved from the cFax web portal in Settings→API.
1. Under PRINT DRIVER KEYS, type a name for the device you've installed the driver on (you can have multiple devices/keys) and click Generate. This will create a new key.
2. ClickCopy, then paste the key into the field in the app setup screen and click Authenticate. This will complete the setup.
